Poster Run
Every week, thousands of posters are distributed around the university campus in strategic locations, to advertise events, businesses, services, and meetings of all kinds. Your service, club, or company may take advantage of this service to advertise to all students at the University of Waterloo.
Step 1 - Pick your Poster Run Day
Posters are distributed on Friday, call ext. 84042 to confirm
- - Posters are posted for a Maximum of 2 Weeks - No Exceptions
- - Posters must be submitted by 10:00am Thursday
- - Note: posters are accepted on a first come first serve basis, 14 spaces are available per run
- - Board space may be booked in advance but must be cancelled by 10am Wednesday if not needed ($14 fee will be charged if space is booked and is not cancelled or used)
- - Outside groups are only able to use the small poster run
Note: For the Spring Term the Poster Run will be distributed bi-weekly starting Friday, May 2nd until Friday, July 25th. The weekly run will commence Friday, September 5th.
Step 2 - Pick Which Type of Run You Want

Step 3 - Check with Feds to Ensure Approval
Posters must be sponsored by groups with stamping approval (i.e. Feds, clubs, associations, etc...) and must comply with University and Federation posting policies:
- - Posters remain up for a maximum of 2 weeks - no exceptions
- - Posters may not be larger than 11"x17"
- - No posters shall have any reference to alcohol (i.e. must not say "free beer", "free drinks", "$2 beer", "Molson Party", "free beverages", "LCBO", "cash bar", "wine & cheese", etc...)
- - No personal ads - (i.e. sublets, items for sale, private companies, entrepreneurs, etc...)
- - Off campus events are exceptions and approval is determined on the benefit to students (i.e. job fair)
- - No posters that advertise companies that directly compete with any of the Federation of Students businesses
- - All posters must be removed at the end of every term
Step 4 - Submit Your Poster
Drop off your copies at the Fed office (SLC) or mail them to:
